  • The title sounds like this article is about some Religious talk where people are warned to follow strict moral values otherwise a devine being will eventually punish us. But actually this article written to provide a case study on human thoughts and the balance between negative thoughts and their positive counter part.

Mindmap of Sins and virtues "Mindmap of Sins and virtues"

Although there are people that like to believe that there is something more, such as either an Extraterrestial Deity (something that created the earth, and yes some people believe God created earth, so he must be an Extraterrestial..), Non-phycical Deity (something that is there but you can't see, like a spirit or energy) or the devine deity is Mother earth itself (The one that brings life). There are those who believe that Devine Intervention and Devine Rettribution are possible, and one should always choose a Righteous path in life to avoid rettribution.

This article is not to convince you of any of these things.

This article does use the christian Seven Deadly Sins and it's counter part Virtues. The mindmap projects them as either negative or positive thoughts.

Negative drives

Sins in my believe root from four negative basic drives called:

Feeling Drive Description
Hunger urge to want more.. Does not always directly refer to the need of food alone. It this case it's better described as a "Lustful Appetite" or in other words "Addiction".
Irascible urge to fight.. Being short tempered. Unable to control emotions or have a great need to be superior to others. Comes along with losing faith in others.
Mind Corruption urge to transgress.. A moral broken state, usually caused by traumatic life experiences. Loss of loved ones, loss of respect or being influenced by others or events that force you in a transgressive and often confused state.
Carelessness urge to distantiate.. Lack of concern, usually caused by lack or need of personal space and respect.

Possible development of negative thoughts in stages of life:

Adaptive early stages in life

Basically when you enter this world you start with nothing. Your sight is literally limited to only a few feet away from you, and you are completely dependant on others especially your mothers care. As you still have to develop a moral understanding of life itself, you just rely on the basic instinct called survival. Some say you start with a blank sheet, but this is not entirely true. Since everyone has a diffrent brain chemistry and experience things diffrently. This is due to genenic make up. Also proper Nutrition can be a very important in early stages of brain development. It happens to be you only care for food and warmth as your body rapidly grows and adapts to the live outside the womb. In a few weeks you become settled with this situation and you become more aware of your surroundings. You start to observe and mimmic behavior of others as this might be a good way to further adapt and you might think this gives a better chance on surviving. Most traumatic expirences are forgotten on the way between the age 0 to 4 and this phenomonen is called Childhood amnesia. It can stretch up to the age of 10. The brain can be very selective in storing long term memories. This is part of the survival instict aswell, as we have no need for horrific or confusing images to reappear in our mind, that might block the development of our self awareness. Yet, even a childs mind can be corrupted and even if events and images are forgotten, the trauma or Phobia might remain.

Cognitive childhood years

It's important to know that only being nice to a child is not the proper way of raising it. The child itself needs to learn important values in life for itself. Like Sharing, Helping, Create interest in things and be thankful. Spoiling a child might be one of the parenting pitfalls, but infact children suffer more from false promisses and broken trust. Do not bribe a child or promis something in advance unless there is a 100% certainty you can live up to it. It's very important for a child to get this moral trust. When refushing something, be firm and provide a reason the child can understand. The child might try a few times more, but always remind it of the earlier statement. Just saying "No" can cause the child be become confused and starts Whining. Reactiving aggressively to this situation might worsen or bring fear. Also this behavior can be mimicked, as a child proofs succesful dominating others, it will likely start developing Iracible behavior.

Adolescence

Adolescence is a stage in life that is usually associated with the teenage years, but it can start a little earlier and can also last a little longer. It actually is a transitional stage of physical and psychological development in becoming adult. There is a rapid cognitive development in the brain, much more than in the earlier childhood years. The child will start to deal with own decision making. Also in this process they will experiment, face challenges and be tested by other Adolescences. Due to inexperience it can lead to bad decisions. This can be a challenging period for parents, as they now have a task to guide their children in making their own decisions instead of learning them what to do. In this phase it's better to avoid forbidding things. This will limit the child's choices. It can be a good practice to make consensus instead. For example: deal making about not smoking untill a certain age, and set a reward like paying for their driving license often proofs a succesful method. Mutual respect is important in this phase of life. Forbidding means: There is doubt about the ability of the child's own decision making. This proofs as a lack of respect to the child and it can be rewarded with mutal disrespect. In this stage of life all negative thoughts and emotions can be experienced. Hormones can effect decision making and amplifies these thought and emotions.

Adulthood

Young people look reaching this moment in life and older people might despise it. It's an phase that brings alot of responsibilities, choices and wrong doings. The search for a soulmate, raising your own siblings and hardly time to reflect your own problems and dreams. Also everything you ever learned seems to unfold in some grand finale and some of us will find out they didn't learn a damn thing how to properly take care of themselves. Let alone taking care of others. We come to the conclusion we live in a sinful world full of temptations and most people trying to deceive us. It's really hard keeping your head up and see the beauty of living. Breaking a circle of negativity is self-reflection and find out what troubles your mind. The Mindmap helps to find out any wrongs in your life and the opposite side of the mindmap might give an answer how to break this spell. For example: You are upset about something and you feel hurt and frustrated. The opposite side tells you to relax, count to Ten. Perhaps think of something that gets your mind of it, think about happy things. Feel blessed about things you archieved so far. Yet, this sounds simple. But what if you developed an addiction? It's very common in adulthood to make choices about that to make you feel better. Over-eating, sex addition or alcohol and drugs use are temptations that come along with the freedom of decision making. Society might give us too much freedom in making these decisions, since nobody is telling you what to do anymore. It's a hard-knock life from this point. But still you are the one in control and making the choices. So even if everthing around you is shit. You are the one either giving in to this shit or find a way to change it and break the spell.

Old Age

My mother always used to say : "Children and old people speak the truth", but the actual saying is "Children and Fools tell the Truth". Not saying older people are fools, but it's true that when you get older, you find out you lose so many friends and family around you, it does not really matter to lie and protect people anymore. The truth comes out eventually, when you're gone, and you will never be able to correct it. Taking negative things to the grave is the last thing most people want. So many people show repentance at the ends of their lives. Also most older people have learned quite a lot from life and letting things go is part of the process in this stage. Still also older people can develop negative thoughts. Think of grieving over lost loved ones or showing pride and hate up until death. It doesn't really help that the world around them changes faster than they do. Also most feel lost and forgotten, put into care homes and deserted by family as most children (that are adults now) are too busy working and taking care of their own children. It really isn't as pleasant for most as imagened, when to think you saved a good pension and you can have a great old age, but everyone around you died or in a crippled state, you do not feel like spending it for yourself either. All the saved money becomes a burden all in a sudden.

Positive drives

Virtuess in my believe root from four positive basic drives called:

Feeling Drive Description
Fullness Feeling complete.. The feeling that you are complete is the feeling that nothing is missing in your life.
Tolerant Being able to forgive.. Being able to forgive someone and use those experiences to make you a better human is invaluable. Don't be afraid to forgive other people. If you refuse to forgive others, your heart can become hardened and you may push people away.
Honest Being truthful.. Being truthful means that we can grow and mature, learning from our mistakes. Truthfulness makes social bonds and creates understanding.
Devoted Being devoted.. Being devoted to something means being focused on that particular thing almost exclusively. When you are devoted to a cause, you work to achieve its goals. When you are devoted to a person, you place their needs above your own.
